TRUMP – The Art of the Deal Book Review

Almost everyone has heard about Donald Trump and his massive amount of accrued wealth, but most have no idea how he made it. Some think he’s in real estate, others thinks he owns businesses, but quite frankly, those are just some of the methods of madness he chooses to use. Donald Trump is actually in the art of “Deal-Making” and you’ll learn all about it in this book.

I will talk about what I think the most important concept of the book is. If you don’t want to read this book, I think you should at least read the chapter on this concept. The concept is about using negative thinking to help you negotiation, make deals, and accumulate wealth. I’ve read a lot of books but this is the first one I’ve heard that tells you to think negatively to gain an edge.

Trumps outlook on deals is that if you can handle and accept the worst part of a deal then you can let the good take care of itself. Whenever you go to put a deal together always think of the worst outcome and see if you can accept that before going in. If you can’t accept it, then either don’t waste your time or try harder to ensure you don’t get that result, but what better way to go into a deal knowing that the worst possible outcome is acceptable to you.

At this point you may be thinking, “that’s stupid” the worst part of any deal is that it doesn’t happen, and if that’s what you’re thinking then I am not making my point clear. Everyone has a different idea of what the worst thing they’ll accept out of the deal is and if yours is the deal just won’t happen then you should definitely read this book to help you up your “worst standards”.

The other parts of the book are also packed with good information. You will learn about Donald’s father and how he was in the construction business and Donald’s decision not to follow in his fathers foot steps. You’ll get to spend a week in the office with Donald. You will learn about some of the major deals he made, the difficulties involved with each, and how he made them happen.

In summary, there’s a lot of things you can take away from this book, whether you just want to know who Donald Trump is or apply his principles to your own life, there’s something for everyone. I give this book a 9/10 for its insightfulness.

Art Book Review – Claude Lorrain

Sketches and drawings of the 1600s come alive in Claude Lorrain’s works, as he drew from his studio in Rome. He obviously had a love for the countryside, God, and history. Many put his sketches and drawings up against the great painters and artisans of his day. I’d be one of those folks who tends to agree.

If you do not know much about this period, or this artist, and you care very much for art history, then I surely hope you will join me in considering owning a copy of a book that has all his work depicted. The book I am going to recommend to you is:

“The Claude Lorrain Album – in the Norton Simon, Inc. Art Museum” by Marcel Roethlisberger; Los Angeles Museum of Art Publishing 1971. ISBN: 0-87587-045-7.

This art photography book has over sixty drawings by Claude Gellee, who is known to the world as Claude Lorrain born in 1600 in Lorrain. He later went to Rome in his young adulthood, where he made his mark. His drawings were well ahead of his time and are loved by art historians to this day. Many of his drawing capture the essence of the time, while others are somewhat abstract, pictorials of religious significant or historical accounts.

It is my hope that you will purchase a copy of this art book, and read through it and become amazed at the drawings and then display it in your living room, available for friends and company to become acquainted with this great work. Please consider this.

Art Book Review – The Works of Marc Chagall

Marc Chagall was undoubtedly one of the greatest Twentieth Century Painters of Europe, and his art and legendary status has withstood the test of time. Few could ever match his incredible productivity and ability to capture the imagination of his viewers.

As a connoisseur of fine art, I am pleased to tell you that if you are interested in the life and times, and art of Chagall, then I have the perfect book for you. One you will wish to display on your coffee table at home or give as a high-end gift to a lover of the arts in your family. The book is:

“Chagall” by Susan Compton; BAS Printers Unlimited, Hampshire, England; 1985. ISBN: 0-87633-062-6.

This is one of the best collections of Marc Chagall’s work I’ve ever seen, in a 275 plus page book that is fully illustrated with the history, era, the art, and the style. The exhibit that accompanied this collector’s edition book was at the Philadelphia Museum of Art from the Royal Academy of Arts. The book explains that Marc’s Russian Heritage is often over looked as this great artisan is known for his work in Paris France, nevertheless originally he was from Russia.

Marc Chagall was a genius and few art historians will deny it. Indeed, he was of the greats of his time and his experience and observations of life show through to his work. This book is well footnoted, with background references and fact checking all available, nothing is hidden from the reader. Please consider this book, it’s the best book I’ve ever found on Chagall.
