"Touch Me 3" Alexander Edwards
Shown in gallery 2, on the ground floor of 69 Smith Street is Touch Me, an exhibition of twelve intimate photographs that offer glimpses into the private world of sexuality, sensuality and emotion. These secret views are captured in phrases scribed across parts of naked male and female bodies.
The most successful compositions are those where the body’s scale is lost and the patterns of light and dark leave the viewer unsure as to what they are seeing. These images present the bare sensuality of skin and hair. Disarming, the photographs reveal the most intimate and vulnerable moments of ours lives in words that would never be spoken aloud. Touch Me recalls those moments when another sees us truly naked.
