There is always plenty going on at Brunswick Street Gallery and this past Friday was no exception. I chose to review one exhibition out of the six or so opening that night, a group show consisting of forty eight well produced and well presented works by four photographers, located on the first floor of the building. I was amazed to see how well the diverse styles and subject matter of the group worked so successfully in the one show without cluttering the space.
There is Anthea Chilianis who uses the circle as a motif both compositionally and conceptually in her images of the landscape alongside Emma Ferguson’s work of anatomical images layered over photographic portraits. Frances Sergi presents views of urban decay in a series of bright and unique images that contrast with Luke David Kellet’s sensitive and almost intimate portraits of musicians and artists.
Although only a modest sized space the show is clean and well presented with information about the work of each exhibiting artist.
