This is an exhibition of twelve vibrant mixed media paintings that employ texture, form, colour and composition to create abstract images that speak of light and atmosphere. The intense colour and texture of each piece is resolved by areas of scratchy drawing which in my opinion is key to the work’s success.
For myself the strength of the show is September Sunlight in which the warm ochre of the background is broken up by areas of line and shading that anchor the painting, enabling the viewer deeper access into the work .
This is a clean and uncluttered show that is exhibited well within the gallery space.
